Aucune Idée – I Haven’t Got A Clue

When I asked for guidance about what I could write my blog about this week, the thought came to me in French “Aucune idée”.  “Great”, I thought, “my spiritual helpers are going on strike – taking a week off and flying off to Maui to be with Doreen Virtue maybe”.  But later, I realised that this really was to be the subject of my blog. Often when we follow our

Of Course!

I started another course this week: “A Course In Miracles”. I had heard about A Course In Miracles before: Marianne Williamson wrote about it in A Return to Love, and I heard Robert Holden talk about it at I Can Do It! Although they made it sound interesting, I hadn’t felt the call to read it - until now. When selecting my next course at AIHT, I knew that this

Feminist Theology

I started a new course this week at AIHT (American Institute of Holistic Theology) called Feminist Theology. I was speaking about it in my French class, and the teacher asked me why I wanted to do that course.  I told her, as best I could in my limited French, that my reason was because there are lots of women living under oppression.  I explained that the book I am reading

Miracles

Hubby and I have had a few challenges this week, but rather than focus on those, I’d like to focus on the miracles that happen in our lives every day. Millions of miracles happen every day, but we often take them all for granted: The miracle of life, where so many systems work together to allow us to exist on this planet.  How often do we stop to think of all

What Do We Know About Religion?

What do we know about other religions, or for that matter the religion we call our own? My father was originally a Congregational Church minister, so I was raised as a Protestant.  I learned a little bit about the Christian religion in childhood Sunday School classes, and I even attended a few Bible Study classes in my very early teens.  After that, however, I was keen to embrace the secular

Praying Mantis

I was looking out for a sign for my blog this week, when I spied a Praying Mantis on my window.  She is a rare visitor to my household, so I wondered if she had a message for me.  In hindsight I could have asked her personally, using the skills that I learned during my animal communication courses, but, at the time, I was in a hurry to get my

‘Tis The Season To Be Jolly

I knew that, being my last blog before Christmas, (my first blogging Christmas), it would seem appropriate for me to write a blog about Christmas and what it means. I realised that this would be difficult, as Christmas means different things to different people.  Perhaps if I could find out about the origins of this celebration, I would understand. I read a number of theories about the origins of December 25th

Empathy – Living In A World Of Energy

Ever since Albert Einstein’s equation E=MC2 became famous, it has been easy for most people to accept the new age theory that everything is made of energy, including ourselves.  We know that, even though a rock appears as a solid lump, that it is really made up of a lot of rapidly-moving particles, and it is the energy of the particles which gives it its solid form.  We know that

What Sort Of World Do We Want For Our Future?

Do we all have different answers to this question? Is the answer as individual as each of us is? I’ll give you my answer and you can tell me what you think. I want a world where every man, every woman, every child, every animal, and Mother Earth herself, are treated with respect.  I want a world where every person on the Earth has sufficient food, water, shelter and security.

Why I Am Vegan

Being peace to bring peace. I have not always been a vegan, even though I had known about the cruelty involved in the factory farming system for 20 years or so.  For a while I was what I would call a pseudo-vegetarian.  I was mostly vegetarian, but I still ate fish.  I wasn’t committed to vegetarianism, because I believed that one person couldn’t make a difference.  I even started reintroducing
