Judge Not

When I asked for guidance about what to write my blog about, the answer came back “love”. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.  After all, my motto is “Love is the answer to all questions.”  What other answer did I expect to get? The reason that love is the answer to all questions is that love is all there is.  Everything that God created was created from what God is.

Valentine

As we had Valentine’s Day during the week, I thought it timely to talk about romantic love. Hubby and I are not much into Valentine’s Day, so apart from a Toastmasters meeting devoted to Valentine’s Day, the day went largely unnoticed by the both of us.  We occasionally buy each other Valentine’s cards, but the one I bought him a few years ago was such a perfect card for him,

Apostasy

Last night I had been reading my book, We Are One, prior to sending it off for editing.  I had been reading the conversation which my character, Angela, has with God about Islam and the issues which Angela has with certain passages in the Qur’an. I realised that one issue which hadn’t been discussed in the book was apostasy. Apostasy for Muslims is said to be “conscious abandonment of Islam

Be The Light Of The World

I was sitting looking at the way the light coming through the louvre blind made strange patterns on the items that it touched.  Even though the light was coming through in straight lines, by the time I saw its results, it had become wonderful interesting shapes, depending on what shape the light landed upon. I realised that this is the job of us all – to take the pure light

Brussels

I no longer watch the news or read newspapers, but I know that if anything happens that I need to know, my guides and angels will ensure I learn about it. Naturally, I heard about the attacks in Brussels and was just as horrified as everyone else.  But I had another underlying emotion which I had trouble identifying.  It felt a bit like anger, but had tinges of incredulity and

The Life and Death of Jesus

In my blog a couple of weeks ago, God’s Truth, (http://www.lorelletaylor.com/gods-truth/) I compared the God I had been learning about in the Bible with Tomorrow’s God, who I had learned about from Neale Donald Walsch.  This week I have been studying a book which has had me questioning my beliefs about Jesus’ life and death. The story of Jesus life is pretty well known by most people, even if they

The Other Side of Islam

Last week my blog was about embracing Islam, and some of the parallels between Islam and modern spiritual teachings.  I mentioned that, according to Eren Tatari, who wrote one of the books I was studying, there has been too much emphasis on the practice and jurisprudence of Islam and not enough on the faith. I know that everything happens in divine order, so I knew that it was no coincidence

Embracing Islam

Like me, you may have only thought of Islam as a religion filled with rituals and rules.  Perhaps, like me, you found it hard to understand how a Muslim could have a personal spiritual experience in the midst of so many rigorous practices.  Perhaps, instead, you imagined every Muslim to be just like the many extremist “Islamists” we hear about in the media involved in brutality and terrorist activities. It

What Do We Know About Religion?

What do we know about other religions, or for that matter the religion we call our own? My father was originally a Congregational Church minister, so I was raised as a Protestant.  I learned a little bit about the Christian religion in childhood Sunday School classes, and I even attended a few Bible Study classes in my very early teens.  After that, however, I was keen to embrace the secular
